✅ How to Make a California Estimated Tax Payment

To submit your estimated payment to the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB), follow these steps:

  1. Visit the FTB Payment Portal Go to ftb.ca.gov/pay and select Web Pay for Individuals.
  2. Select Your Payment Type Choose Estimated Tax as the reason for payment. Select the current tax year.
  3. Log In or Pay as Guest
    • Log in using your MyFTB account, or
    • Continue as a guest using your SSN and basic personal details.
  4. Enter Your Payment Amount Enter the estimated amount shown on your Accru estimate letter or worksheet for that quarter. California estimated tax due dates generally follow the federal schedule:

    • September 15
    • January 15
  5. Confirm and Save Your Receipt Submit your payment and save or download the confirmation receipt.
