Paying your California business tax balance doesn’t have to be complicated. The California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) offers a secure way to pay directly from your bank account using Web Pay for Business.
✅ How to Pay a California Business Original Tax Payment
Step 1: Go to the FTB Payments Website
Visit ftb.ca.gov/pay and select Bank Account (Web Pay).
We recommend this option since there are no processing fees.
Step 2: Select Business Payment
Choose Business, then Web Pay for Business.
Step 3: Choose Your Entity Type
Select the appropriate entity type (Corporation or LLC).
If your LLC is taxed as an S-Corporation, select Corporation.
Step 4: Enter Your Entity Information
Enter your 12-digit California entity number (found on your Articles of Organization or prior CA return).
Log in and provide your business contact information and any required shareholder information.
Step 5: Select Payment Type
Choose Original Return as the reason for payment.
Step 6: Enter the Payment Period
Select the applicable tax year period:
January 1 – December 31, 2025.
Step 7: Enter the Payment Amount and Date
Enter the amount shown on your Accru result letter.
If your letter reflects an additional balance due (for example, due to income exceeding minimum thresholds), include that amount as well.
Enter the payment date shown on your result letter (for example, December 15, 2025), or an earlier date if you are paying sooner.
Step 8: Enter Bank Information and Submit
Input your routing and account number.
Confirm the amount and submit your payment.
Step 9: Save Your Receipt
Screenshot or print the confirmation page.
📂 Upload your receipt to your Client Portal under Tax Payments.
